Rudraksha is the name for the seeds of the tree Elaeocarpus ganitrus, which are used for prayer beads in Hinduism and Buddhism. The name comes from Sanskrit and is composed of the names Rudra (Shiva) and aksha (tears). The tree grows in the foothills of the Himalayas to Southeast Asia, Nepal, Indonesia, New Guinea and beyond. Legend has it that after a long meditation, Shiva shed a tear from which a tree was formed.

Wearing rudraksha beads provides protection, reflects negative energy, suppresses stress. It is traditionally used to balance the mind, emotions, and to create the right environment for meditation to lead to the desired goals in life, to relieve stress and tension, to heal the body, and to induce positive change.

Because rudraksha is part of prayer beads, it helps calm the mind, regulate blood pressure and improve attention. Rudraksha protects against all kinds of negative influences and energy, helps to harmonize the environment around us. Rudraksha supports our efforts, helps to achieve the set goals, encourages wealth and prosperity.

Nowadays, beads are also used as necklaces or bracelets, ie as a fashionable and distinctive piece of jewelry, an accessory suitable for any occasion.
